Welcome to Troven!

The word Troven was made from two dutch words- Trouwe Vriend- meaning Loyal Friend.

  •         Troven Animal Rehabilitation Center, it self, is a half-way house for shelter animals that need extra attention before they can find a forever home.  Our mission is to provide a temporary place to stay for dogs that need behavioral modification and additional training before they can find a good home.  Most of these ‘hard to place’ dogs have been adopted and returned several times.  This is mainly because of bad habits, and it is our hope to retrain them and place them with homes that are willing to continue to provide the extra attention that these animals need.   The other aspect of our organization is for cats.

  • There are so many cats that need extra attention, either because of medical issues or behavior problems.  Sick cats are very hard to place and for the most part we are seeking donations to help the care of this animal in a no-kill shelter.  Kittens that are brought to us are often too young, or wild.  The ‘bottle-babies’ care kept here until they are old enough to be adopted, and the feral kittens require a lot of extra attention and love.  Cats with behavior problems are by far the hardest to place.  Most of the time they cannot be fixed, and spend they rest of their lives in a no-kill shelter.  Troven itself is a very small organization.

Troven is a home based second chance rescue, so we are very limited to how many animals we can take in and help.  To allow us to continue and expand our efforts we have listed several articles that address the most common dog and cat problems.  As a professional dog trainer and my husband spending a lifetime with cats, we feel that these articles are accurate.  Within these articles are products that are recommended to help with each issue.  They are linked to a page where you have the option to purchase these items, which will help us with Troven’s mission.  You can also sponsor animals that are listed on the site.
